Alex de Angelis debuts with his RSW 250 on the historic Assen circuit, achieving the best time in the morning's free practice with 2'20”472. The driver from San Marino is facing the Dutch trip with the utmost professionalism, trying to make the most of it
“This morning – said Alex – I did well, this is a very demanding track, where I can learn a lot, especially with the rain.”

During the official practice session, Alex looked for the best set-up to counteract the tendency of his bike to lock into corners due to the constantly wet track. De Angelis concluded the first round of official practice in 10th position (2'21”592).

“The conditions here – continues Alex – are certainly not the best, but that's the way it is in Assen, so I have to adapt. I could have done better, but when the others started to lower their times I went into the garage to change the rear tire and when I came out it started to pour. Tomorrow we will work based on the weather conditions we will encounter in the race.”

POGGIALI: “TODAY IT IS DIFFICULT TO DO BETTER.”

The weather conditions were the protagonists of the tests of the 250 class World Champion Manuel Poggiali who closed the first official session in 16th position, stopping the clock at 2'22”816.
“In addition to the rain – said Manuel – there was a lot of wind which made it difficult to ride the bike especially when changing direction. During the session we did some tire tests, trying to finish one, then we fitted a run-in one which was fine, but the track conditions changed again."

“Today – continues Poggiali – it was really difficult to do better. Tomorrow we will try to work for the race also based on the weather, although I really believe that on Saturday we will race in the rain."
