125cc- Losail – Nico Terol: “Great Weekend”

Nico Terol dominated the opening race of the 125cc world championship at Losail in Qatar. The Team Bankia Aspar driver gave his opponents no chance, inexorably separating them from the start and arriving at the finish line with a good 7.710 points over his closest pursuer Sandro Cortese. Here are the words of the Spanish driver.

“I'm happy, because I felt very good and fluid on the bike. As a result, the fastest lap times came quite easily. The end of the race was a little more difficult, because the last four laps I had some problems with the rear tire. It was very strange and the longest rides of my life! I slowed down a lot so as to avoid any problems. I want to thank the team for a fabulous job, because the bike was really fast and the chassis was magnificent. However, we have to keep our feet on the ground because a lot of riders will bother us. We reached a fantastic level last season, and I intend to try to use that experience to my advantage. Racing without having done the warm-up was strange and at first it felt like just another practice session. We had a great weekend but I repeat that we will have to continue to work hard. Other times it will be harder.”
