125cc – Jerez Free practice 2 – Cortese ahead of Terol

Second free practice session for the eighth-litre riders in Jerez de la Frontera, the second round of the 2011 world championship, which started last March 20th in Qatar. At the end of the 40-minute session, the fastest on the track was Sandro Cortese astride the Aprilia of Intact-Racing Team Germany. The German driver set the best time with a time of 1'48″ 717 and completed many laps at a good pace, demonstrating that he can be one of the protagonists of the Spanish Grand Prix. Behind him but half a second behind we find the Losail winner Nico Terol. The Spaniard from Team Bankia Aspar tried in every way to stay ahead of the German but his attempts were in vain.

Third time and fourth time for two other Spaniards, namely Hector Faubel and Luis Salom who, however, had gaps of more than second. Miguel Oliveira closes the Top Ten on the Aprilia of Team Andalucia Banca Civica.

Good performance by the British Taylor Mackenzie, thirteenth ahead of our Simone Grotzkyj Giorgi; However, the two have very heavy gaps from the summit, 2"633 and 2"706 respectively. Twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth times for the two Team Italia FMI riders Luigi Morciano and Alessandro Tonucci while Francesco Mauriello on the WTR-Ten10 Racing Aprilia is thirty-second at over 6 seconds.
