After a great battle, Julian Simon managed, with a time of 1'49.337, to conquer the pole position of the Indianapolis Grand Prix in the 125 class. The championship leader managed to prevail by just 50 thousandths over Sandro Cortese (Derbi – Ajo Interwetten), two tenths over Nicolas Terol (Aprilia – Jack&Jones) and Pol Espargaro, fourth with the official Derbi.

With very small gaps, Bradley Smith also finds himself in fifth position ahead of Simone Corsi, sixth, first of the Italians ahead of the Spaniards Gadea, Vazquez, Marquez (protagonist of a fall) and Olive who completes the top ten.

Twelfth is Andrea Iannone, while Lorenzo Savadori climbs up to eighteenth position with the second Aprilia of Fontana Racing. Further back are Zanetti, Marconi and Vitali, the other Italians on the grid in the 125 class.
