Seventh pole position of the season in sight? Probably, if we're talking about the 125cc World Champion, Alvaro Bautista. Even today in the first qualifying round of the 125cc in Estoril the rider from Talavera de la Reina kept the competition behind him, signing the provisional pole with a time of 1'46"493, 87 thousandths below the time of his eternal rival (and he will also find it in 250) Mika Kallio. Bautista/Kallio fight for a 125cc that objectively has little to say and tell, considering the market is practically closed and the new Aprilia 2007 shown yesterday in the pit lane of the Circuito do Estoril.

Returning to today's qualifying, behind the two championship leaders we find Mattia Pasini, with the very positive Gabor Talmacsi fourth to close the front row (a good prospect from a 2007 perspective, considering that he will take Bautista's place at the Aspar team). Pesek fifth ahead of Julian Simon, who has been leading the standings for a long time, followed by Faubel, Fabrizio Lai and an incredible Tomoyoshi Koyama ninth with the Malaguti which he will leave in Valencia to get on Mika Kallio's orphaned KTM.

Usual names, some surprises, several confirmations in a qualifying of the eighth of a liter which offered Lorenzo Zanetti closing the top ten and the Englishman Bradley Smith twelfth. Tomorrow it will be repeated, without the threat of rain, with the usual expected duel to characterize a 125cc which, objectively, no longer seems to have much to say this season.
