125 cc – Brno QP2 – Second pole of the season for Luthi

For once, there is no Mika Kallio on pole position in the 125cc. In Brno, championship leader Thomas Luthi took home his second pole position of the season (and of his career), on a track that he particularly loves and seems to adapt well to the Luthi/Honda RS125 combination prepared by the Elit team. Luthi managed to get up to 2'08"638, which was enough for him to defend himself in the assaults in order of time by Mattia Pasini, in the end second, and Marco Simoncelli, fourth with impetuosity and the best T2 in the "good" lap.

A great performance for the young Swiss courted by KTM for next season, and today the Matthigofen manufacturer was unable to replicate the times set yesterday. Kallio and Talmacsi were unable to improve, and so we find them in third and fifth position respectively. Behind the Hungarian ex-Malaguti we find the Italian-German Sandro Cortese, who also crashed in the final moments of Qualifying, who precedes Fabrizio Lai and the local idol Lukas Pesek with the Derbi.

The results of the Italians were excellent overall, with Raffaele De Rosa extraordinary in tenth position, with Zanetti unfortunately 15th (after a first round of Qualifying to remember), Iannone three positions behind with Pirro and Sandi over the thirtieth position. Disappointing, as always this season, is Manuel Poggiali, fourteenth, increasingly in crisis, less and less the true former world champion of 125 and 250...
