Valentino Rossi "With Guareschi there were technical differences on the future, he wanted Honda"

Valentino Rossi spoke in the classic Thursday press conference that precedes every Grand Prix. At Misano the seven-time Top Class world champion spoke not only about MotoGP, but also about Moto3 and his divorce from Vittoriano Guareschi, who from this race will be replaced by the Alessio Salucci and Alberto Tebaldi couple.

Valentino, can you explain how the divorce came about between your Moto3 team (Sky VR46) and Vittoriano Guareschi? It's true that he wanted Honda

“We had technical differences about the future. We stayed with KTM, so you do it! (laughs, ed.)”

Did this episode introduce you to new difficulties?

“We need to separate friendship from work. They are two completely different things. I am very good friends with Vittoriano, I have known him since I was 14 years old and I raced in Sport Production and I saw him as one of the strong ones. Then I am very good friends with his brother and we had decided to take this path together.”

Why this decision now, when we are just over halfway through the season?

“Because it was the time to decide for the future and the ideas were different. We had decided to stay in KTM, while he pushed hard for Honda."

Will Fenati remain in the team?

“Nothing has been decided, I hope it stays, but we don't know yet.”

Going back to the race weekend, what do you expect?

“I'm very excited for this weekend and I hope to do well. I would like to fight for the top positions.”

What do you think of Montezemolo's farewell to Ferrari?

“It was in the air, but I can only thank him. In the past I spoke a lot with him and he gave me the opportunity to try the Ferrari Formula 1. Unfortunately on the racing side there has been a lack of victories in recent years, while the product is doing very well. It certainly "sounds" strange that someone managed to change the president.
