Valentino Rossi accident – After Valentino Rossi's words regarding the accident that occurred last night while he was training with an enduro motorbike (which you can read here), Dr. Pascarella explains the operation to which the Yamaha champion was subjected (who had suffered a displaced fracture of the tibia and fibula in his right leg), also specifying the recovery times. Below are the words of the surgeon.

“I hope to be able to discharge him in 2 or 3 days,” said Raffaele Pascarella, director of the orthopedics and traumatology unit of the Ancona hospital, as reported by Resto del Carlino.

Rossi won't be able to get on a motorbike for 30-40 days. “Valentino – explained the surgeon – he arrived at the hospital at midnight, the operation started at two and lasted about an hour. We placed a nail to fix the fracture. It's the same tibia that he fractured at Mugello. We will start physiotherapy immediately, he will have to rest for 30-40 days. Leg fractures take 4 or 5 months for complete stabilization." Rossi, however, did not lose heart: "His mood is good - reports the doctor - he has always been smiling".

The Dr. explained that Rossi was fitted with “a titanium intramedullary nail, which should be removed no earlier than a year, a year and a half. It's a major trauma, but Rossi wants to get back to racing as soon as possible."
