A lap of the Mugello track together with Roberto Rolfo…….

It's definitely my favorite along with Suzuka which is
very similar for its high technical qualities.
I covered many kilometers at Mugello last year when I was an Aprilia test rider
and, even if with a motorbike of different displacement, many of the references I have
They will come in handy for setup.
The Tuscan circuit is one that highlights technical skills
of a pilot; in fact, you need to be good and sensitive to develop one
motorbike on this curvy track.
What you just can't afford when you drive at the limit in here
is to distract yourself, because every little mistake can become
a big mistake, which you carry with you throughout the long sequence of variations
and curves that you find yourself facing.
But are you ready to take a ride with me?
Hold on tight, the average lap time is over 170 hours....!!!!
Let's go!
The finish straight is very long with a hill to pass
in full sixth gear at over 250km/h.
This is a very difficult stretch because the bump doesn't allow you
to see the braking point and so you have to learn the track a little
before jumping to the limit.
From sixth to first gear to tackle the S.Donato curve, uphill, where
my fans will be present!
From here the real track begins where, as I said before, if you miss a corner you
you carry the mistake with you to the finish line.
Let's start with a left right from second which takes you to another variation,
the Borgo San Lorenzo-Materassi which widens in the final part, where it is
It's important to open the throttle early to launch yourself full downhill towards the Casanova-Savelli,
third gear curve where the slope of the asphalt is clearly against you
and tends to take you off track. On this track it is very important
always have the engine on fire to be able to keep the edge of the curve.
From the descent to the ascent, like on a roller coaster, you enter the first of the Arrabbiata
which is approached at more than 175 km/h; We don't have time to get in
we are already at the second corner of the Arrabbiata, difficult and dangerous
because the change in slope does not allow you to see the exit. Own
on the hill you break off and go down a gear to enter the Palagio Scarperia
where a large pothole at the exit causes the rear tire to lose grip.
Downhill along the current man's hairpin, from second gear. Here
it is very important to exit keeping to the right as much as possible
then throw yourself into the variation of the Biondetti from fourth. Here we are close to
finish line: Bucine corner from third gear; Bucine is a curve
where you need to have good mileage to be able to go out fast and go fast
straight.
On this track it is very important to have a good engine that you can unleash
in the 1200m of straight that we find, where we are also uphill.
From Friday we will work as hard as we can to resolve the problems we have had
Le Mans and to be able to have fun on a real "circuit".
