Estoril test, new exhaust for Valentino Rossi
Valentino Rossi tested a new exhaust for his Yamaha M1 today at Estoril (pictured).
The Pesaro rider completed 80 laps, improving his GP performance by a tenth.
His partner Carlos Checa was also on track with him, but he did not try the new exhaust system. Checa tested new Michelin tires in view of the next GPs.
Sete Gibernau also tried, trying to resolve the set-up problems that didn't allow him to go beyond 4th place in the GP held yesterday. The Spaniard set the best time with 1'37.63, a time that would have allowed him to start from pole.
Kawasaki with Shinya Nakano and Alex Hoffmann and Proton with Nobuatsu Aoki also toured.
These are the times:
Sete Gibernau – 1'37.63 (74 laps)
Valentino Rossi – 1'38.31 (80 laps)
Colin Edwards – 1'38.08 (71 laps)
Carlos Checa – 1'38.90 (76 laps)
Shinya Nakano – 1'39.97 (58 laps)
Alex Hofmann – 1'39.97 (64 laps)
Nobuatsu Aoki – 1'41.59 (62 laps)
