Supersport: Anthony West wild card at Phillip Island
The Australian will race with his team on the Yamaha YZF R6
Anthony West will again race as a wild card in his home round at Phillip Island, his season opener for the FIM Supersport World Championship, with West Racing on a Yamaha YZF R6.
The 35-year-old Australian driver has yet to announce his plans for next season, but he will certainly be on the starting grid from 24 to 26 February, for the second year in a row: in 2016 he achieved an important third position in front of his home fans, always driving for Yamaha.
West has spent the majority of his motorcycling career in MotoGP™, starting in the 125cc Championship in 1998, quickly progressing and making his debut in 2007 in the top class.
A regular points scorer, West moved up to Moto2™ before arriving in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.
