After five rounds experienced between ups and downs, far from the results of the recent past, Tom Sykes returns to the protagonist of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship, taking the race double in the sixth round of the season at the Donington Park Circuit.

The English driver demonstrated that he had finally rediscovered a feeling with his ZX-10R that seemed lost, achieving an important result not so much for the ranking, here the road is still long, but for his morale, he who had witnessed to the excessive power of his new teammate Jonathan Rea in the first ten races of the year without being able to respond convincingly.

“We had a clean sweep this weekend – two wins, a pole position and a new circuit race record,” he said Sykes – “After some battles in race 1, in the following I managed to go a little faster at Craner and Old Hairpin and this allowed me to escape. The bike was going very well and I managed to lap in 1'27 on more than one occasion at the start of the race. I was very happy with my performance in the race, especially because Marcel and my group worked really hard. I'm pleased to have won six races in a row at Donington, even if there is no specific reason behind this run of results. We're in a really good place now and I feel like I can ride the bike as I would like, at least a little more than before."

Sykes therefore continues his unbeaten streak on the Donington track, which has now lasted three editions and which allows him to reach Carl Fogarty in terms of number of victories here, he will now have to demonstrate in Portimao that these results are not just circumstantial at a track that is his own always congenial.
