Mixed results for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Superbike Team on the track of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, for the fifth round of the season: while on the one hand Davide Giugliano climbed to the third step of the podium in the race, Chaz Davies he had to abandon both races due to technical problems.

“I am very happy with the podium, which on a personal level counts as a victory. After the first part of the first heat I was already tired and in the second part I suffered a lot; I couldn't have done more” – he said David Giugliano – “I was undecided whether to do the second heat or not because I was really exhausted, but thanks to the support of the Clinica Mobile and the support of all my fans, I was also able to finish the second race, in fourth position. It was an important weekend that made us understand that we can fight in every single race for the top positions. We have a very high-performance bike and, once I'm back in shape, I know we can be even more competitive. It wasn't easy to run today at all and it was possible above all thanks to the great help that the team, my family and Prof. Fabio Catani from the Modena Polyclinic hospital have given me in recent months. So I want to thank everyone who gave me support and also the many fans who came to watch the races today here in Imola.”

“Obviously it was a dark day, we had the chance to have two good races here today and instead we go home with nothing in hand” – he said Chaz Davies – “In race 1 a technical problem stopped me and I was therefore hoping to be able to make up for it in race 2. Unfortunately, immediately after a few laps of the second heat, I felt that there was something wrong with the bike. I was using the second bike obviously and I had to change some settings with the buttons at the beginning, after which the bike seemed a little smoother. But then I started having other problems, my foot slipped off the footrest and I noticed that there was a slight oil leak, I tried to pay attention and hoped it wouldn't get worse so I could finish the race but it wasn't possible... A day to forget..."
