Superbike Türkiye: Free Practice 1 in Guintoli
The Aprilia rider was the only one to drop below 1'57"
It was in Istanbul Park Sylvain Gunitoli su RSV4 to set the best time in the first free practices. The Frenchman, who the day before had said he was super motivated to aim for victory, was the only one to go under 1'57”.
First of the others Marco Melandri on the BMW S1000, also quite aggressive, followed by the man of the Saturday afternoon Tom Sykes of Kawasaki.
Good fourth place for Leon Haslam's Honda Pata and even more so the fifth for Toni Elias, making his debut in the production derivatives with the Aprilia of the Red Devils team who, as is known, left Michel Fabrizio at home, currently hired by Ten Kate to replace the injured Jonatan Rea.
Sixth time for Davide Giugliano ahead of Chaz Davies' BMW and the first Suzuki, that of Jules Cluzel.
Eugene Laverty's other official Aprilia was ninth and Carlos Checa's Ducati Alstare, victim of a fall, tenth, as was his garage colleague Ayrton Badovini, eleventh and Leon Camier on the GSX R-1000, sixteenth.
