Tom Sykes is without a shadow of a doubt one of the main protagonists of the 2012 Eni FIM Superbike World Championship. The British Kawasaki rider arrives at the Nurburgring with many hopes and the dream of a title that is still mathematically possible (41 points to recover from Marco Melandri with 150 available). Last year he won in Germany in the wet but he also went well in the dry. The word is up to him.

“We go to Germany in great shape, the Ninja ZX-10R is good, the setup is very good. The German race should be good for us, we have had positive results in the past. Last year we won in the wet but the bike also performed well in the dry and this fills me with enthusiasm for this weekend. The current package is better than last year's and this means that we have to go to Germany with the aim of collecting many more points. The fans ask me if I still think about the title and I say realistically that it is still possible to win the championship. The goal is obviously to be in the top three and push hard.”
