The holidays are over for the teams involved in the world series derivatives championship: yesterday and today the protagonists are busy on the Jerez de la Frontera track in the first private tests of the new year, awaiting the official ones scheduled close to the Australian round at the end February.

On day 1, which took place yesterday Tuesday 26 January, Tom Sykes stopped the clock at 1'40.882, edging 159 thousandths off Chaz Davies' Ducati, while with the third fastest time we found Jonathan Rea at 1'41.210 ZX-10R.
Nicky Hayden did very well with the Honda, setting the fourth time with a 1'41.371, while Alex Lowes was fifth, even if over six tenths behind Sykes, but much faster than his teammate Sylvain Guintoli, ninth with a time of 1'42.165, behind Davide Giugliano, Michael Vd Mark and Xavi Fores.

The Supersport riders were also on the track, with the reigning champion Kenan Sofuoglu standing out in front of everyone with a time of 1'44.059, just under two tenths faster than Randy Krummenacher, coming from Moto2.
For Superstock, best time for Tati Mercado who returned to Ducati in the ranks of the new Junior Team Aruba.it Racing.
The former Team Pedercini rider also has the luxury of leading several Superbikes.

Today's tests, Wednesday 27 January, will continue until 18pm.
