Tom Sykes closes the 2014 Riviera di Rimini round as an absolute dominator, leaving his opponents only crumbs: at yesterday's Superpole, with the related record taken from Troy Corser, one of his idols, he adds the double in the race, and to the new best lap stolen from Carlos Checa, who was then stolen again by Davide Giugliano in Race 2.

The World Champion held the lead of the classification without difficulty, after the Race Direction detected a jump start on Davide Giugliano: penalty for the Italian driver and consequent return to the rear.
Giugliano, however, did not lose heart and was the author of a great comeback, also supported by fantastic support from the public present, up to a good ninth place: for him there is much regret for the mistake, given how he was able to react to the difficulty.
Small consolation for the Ducati rider, the best lap at Misano and a new track record.

Loris Baz's other Ninja completes the podium, thus giving Kawasaki an extraordinary double, demonstrating absolute dominance here at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Third step of the podium went to Marco Melandri who, with the young Baz, entertained the crowd quite a bit: the two were the authors of a fantastic race, in which the Aprilia rider tried right up until the end to snatch second place from him.

Unfortunately, a day to forget for Ducati: in addition to Giugliano's penalty, Chaz Davies was the victim of a fall about halfway through the race.

In fourth place we find the other RSV4 of Sylvain Guintoli, which leaves Tom Sykes a bit behind in the world championship standings: today the Frenchman didn't seem as fit as usual and was never able to really fight for the podium.

Fifth place for Jonathan Rea, ahead of Toni Elias, the two Suzukis of Eugene Laverty, Alex Lowes, Davide Giugliano and David Salom, in tenth place and first of the EVOs.

Great performance for Sylvain Barrier, returning to the World Championship after a long absence following the accident, who managed to keep Leon Haslam's Pata Honda team Honda behind him.

Of note is the excellent 13th place of Ivan Goi, one of the Wilde cards of the weekend.

Also for EVO, we highlight the fall of Christian Iddon of the Bimota Alstare team.
