The two days of testing just concluded on the German Lausitzring track, scene of the next round of the World Championship of production derivatives, the Prosecco DOC German Round, also saw Team Milwaukee Aprilia involved with Eugene Laverty and Lorenzo Savadori.

Both drivers made significant steps forward, obtaining positive sensations, especially Eugene Laverty, for the first time compared to this track, who managed to make steps forward with his RSV4 RF, and hopes to have a good set-up point for the round, in both asphalt conditions.
In the unofficial time rankings, the Irishman is just behind the two Kawasakis of Rea and Sykes: just two tenths separate him from the leader.

“The most important thing for me was to learn the track before the race weekend” – he said Eugene Laverty – “It's a bumpy track, as everyone says, but it's fun to ride with high and low speed sessions and the bike seems to work well. We really did a great job in just a few hours, and we took two big steps forward. We did a lap under the lap record which shows that we are getting closer to the top riders. On this track we worked on corner entry and this allows me to attack more strongly. By improving this area, the rest improved accordingly. I'm happy because it's the same direction we were working on; at Laguna Seca we had made a good pace and here we continued. I am confident that we are in the right direction and when we return here next month we will aim for the podium. It won't be easy, but it's our goal now."

Lorenzo Savadori made the most of the opportunity to test in both dry and wet conditions, continuing to work on the front of his Aprilia, and feels confident in being able to fight in the top six for the second half of the season, which is the objective leader of the team.

“We were able to test the bike in both dry and wet conditions” – he commented Lorenzo Savadori – “It was very useful for us. We didn't have everything we wanted, but we made good use of what was available to us and collected really good data. It's a difficult track to drive on, but it's a good test ahead of the race. My goal was to improve my feeling on the bike and to have stronger sensations at the front, which has been a problem this year. At Laguna we made some progress after free practice, and here we made further improvements. For the races next month I think we will be in a good position to fight. SMR and Aprilia Racing are working really hard to improve the bike and we are a little closer to the leading riders after this test."
