After the historic weekend at Donington Park, with the double that earned him the WorldSbk record for consecutive victories on a single track and the pole position, which signifies another broken statistic, Tom Sykes is back on track again , in early June, in Jerez de la Frontera, for a test with Kawasaki.

At the end of the two days of work, the 2013 world champion said he was pleasantly surprised by the lap times obtained, also considering the fact that the roadmap did not include a targeted focus on pure speed but rather on testing new components for 2017, which concerned electronic and set-up configurations.
Not only speed but also good pace in the long stints, despite the asphalt having high temperatures: Sykes got off the bike very satisfied and even more confident for the immediate future.

“We had a good overall test and did a lot of laps. I'm really happy and the pace I kept here is really good, especially considering that the track temperature was 63 degrees at some moments” – he said Tom Sykes – “We have evaluated a lot of things and we are ready for the next race in Misano. Our lap times were fast, and what matters most is that that wasn't our goal. All my men are pleasantly surprised with the lap times.
We evaluated a lot of things about the chassis, suspension and electronics. I did about 80 laps yesterday and about the same today too. I can relax now and think about all the things we've done here."

The Kawasaki Racing Team will now evaluate the data collected from the Jerez test also in view of the next round of the World Championship, scheduled at the Misano World Circuit from 17 to 19 June.
