Superbike Silverstone: Sylvain Guintoli talks about his first victory aboard the Team PATA Racing Ducati
After the sudden farewell to Team Effenbert came the marriage with Team PATA and the second victory of the season.
Arrived in Brno, two weeks ago, it was feared that Sylvain Guintoli's season was over.
The separation from Team Effenbert was like a bolt from the blue but the new "marriage" with Team PATA Racing was equally lightning-fast.
Arriving at Silverstone, the Frenchman immediately demonstrated that he could be competitive but a wrong tire choice put him out of contention in race 1.
In race 2 Guintoli immediately aimed for the top, went on the run and managed the race excellently.
Here are his statements at the end of the English weekend:
“What a day and what a last two weeks!
It was a very up-and-down journey from Brno to here, but I immediately found myself at ease with Team Pata and this Ducati.
I made the wrong tire choice in race 1, but in race 2 it went great!
I was angry with myself at the start, but when the rain started to fall I felt I had to aim for the podium.
It's my first victory with Pata and I hope it's just the first of a long series!
This victory is a beautiful gift for my wedding anniversary."

well done guintoli you are a rain wizard!
what a redemption!
...what riders, guys...other than those little sluts from MotoGP...one with Giugliano's determination would certainly be useful to "the other more famous Ducati...if some other BIG besides Spies arrives it will be fun!!!
Are you convinced that Giugliano and his wickedness can intimidate someone in Moto GP?
Evidently you speak pervaded by hatred towards a category that is offering little (I'm good) entertainment. If this were not the case, I would just like to remind you that very few former SBK riders have done well in MotoGP: Troy Bayliss, Colin Edwards, Ben Spies and Cal Crutchlow. If I forget anyone, tell me. An emblematic case was Checa who was called as a wild card a few years ago but withdrew during the race. I would also like to add Marco Simoncelli's brief experience with Aprilia and his excellent result, a sign of how someone (certainly not just anyone) from the grand tour can go into SBK and immediately do well without trying too hard. Since many people here hate Rossi, I don't want to talk about how during his convalescence he managed to lap with Toseland's times.
