Loris Baz wins his first Superbike race after just six racing weekends!

The very young French rider from Kawasaki managed to outwit all his opponents during the last meters of the track of a race characterized by the follies of the weather.

Race 1 was in fact interrupted after just two laps due to rain.

We started again with slick tires but a wet race (with the exception of Jakub Smrz and Sylvain Guintoli who dared to use rain tyres): after the first daring and hard-fought laps, characterized by fairing duels between Leon Haslam, Leon Camier, Tom Sykes, Loris Baz and Carlos Checa, the Spaniard attempted to attack.

After a few laps in clear flight, the reigning world champion was forced to slow down due to the rain that began to fall again on some sections of the circuit.

From behind came the astonishing comeback of Michel Fabrizio, Ayrton Badovini and Jonathan Rea: the three drivers caught up with the escapees and fought for the victory with Baz until the last thousandth of the race.

In the end Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini placed behind the Frenchman; bad contact after the finish line between the Biella native, who slipped on the white line, and Jonathan Rea.

Fourth place for Carlos Checa, fifth for Leon Haslam, sixth for Marco Melandri, seventh for Tom Sykes.

To report Leon Camier's excellent race, who crashed a couple of laps from the end but fought for the victory for the rest of the match.

Max Biaggi also slipped in the final meters: the Roman was fighting for fifth place with Melandri and Haslam.
