For David Salom the end of the season is proving to be more complicated than expected: he is in fact still struggling with the injury to his right hand which doesn't seem to be able to be resolved easily.

In fact, after the operation he underwent last July, the Majorcan KRT rider saw his condition worsen again due to a near fall during the Magny-Cours round.
Salom will in any case arrive at Losail in Qatar, where the Superbike will race at night for the first time in its history, for the last round of the season as a great favorite for the EVO class title, being able to count on a margin of 30 points towards Niccolò Canepa.
However, his objective is also to do well and lead the class as a leader, as has often happened to him during this championship.

“In France I was almost the victim of a highside, but in trying to control the bike and not fall I hurt my hand again” – he said David Solomon in an interview on the website www.wsbk.com – “For this reason I decided to skip the two races, because another crash would have been devastating for my injury. Given the track conditions, I preferred not to risk it.
I have never raced at Losail at night, but I have happened to do so on other tracks during Endurance races, both in the World Championship and in the Spanish championship. I'm confident because my hand is reacting well and therefore I'm aiming for two good results in Qatar. It would be nice to win the title with two placings as best EVO driver, this is how I started the season and I would like to end it in the same way. With the advantage we have accumulated, I will be able to take some risks to beat Barrier and Canepa, who are always very fast. Obviously it won't be easy."
