Superbikes | Misano Round, Race2: another zero for Alvaro Bautista
The leader of the standings makes another mistake after Jerez and sees his lead in the standings reduced
“Maybe we were too confident” – this is the comment of a disappointed Alvaro Bautista after the second race of the Pata Riviera di Rimini Round which saw him exit the scene just on the second lap, following an error that cost him the second “ zero” consecutive points entry after the last round in Jerez.
Thanks to the victory of Jonathan Rea, the Spanish rider of Aruba.it Racing – Ducati saw his lead in the fight for the title dramatically reduced at Misano to just 16 points.
“I'm happy because we performed well throughout the weekend” – a pragmatic Bautista began to explain – “At the same time, I'm very angry with myself because I made two mistakes in two consecutive rounds. Maybe I was too confident ahead of the race, given the bike and my way of riding. We will have to work a lot but it still won't erase these two mistakes. In any case, I have to learn from mistakes, so I have to continue learning at every stage!”
