Everyone is happy on the podium in Race 2 of the Geico US Round at Laguna Seca: from Chaz Davies (ARUBA.IT Racing – Ducati) who finally returns to victory after difficult months, to Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) who is increasingly leading the standings with a advantage of 81 points due to the retirement of Alvaro Bautista, just on the second lap, ending with Toprak Razgatlioglu (Turkish Puccetti Racing) who finishes on the podium again, the ninth of his career and the seventh of the season.

Now the production derivatives will go on holiday for over a month: this break will have to be used by Bautista and his team to analyze what happened from Jerez onwards, the round in which the crisis began which led the Spaniard to commit an incredible series of mistakes that paved the way for a hitherto unexpected comeback by Jonathan Rea.
To tell the truth, bad luck also came into play at Laguna Seca: if the fall in Race 1 was attributable only to his mistake, in the Tissot-Superpole Race it was a racing accident that put him out of action, while in the second race he had to abandon due to pain in his shoulder, injured shortly before.
The result, however, is identical: three "zeros" in terms of points which hurt the standings, the Ducati project and the world title ambitions.

The only positive note at Ducati was the Davies victory, achieved thanks to a great start with which he overcame Rea and took the lead.
The Northern Irishman tried to overtake at turn 5 but the Welshman closed the door on him and gradually gained the advantage until the end of the race.
Behind them Razgatlioglu soon found himself alone defending third position.
Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team) finishes in fourth position ahead of Tom Sykes (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK).

Seventh place for Loris Baz (Ten Kate Racing – Yamaha) who got the better of Jordi Torres (Team Pedercini Racing), ninth Marco Melandri (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK) thanks to a beautiful comeback from 17th place, with Michael Ruben Rinaldi (BARNI Racing Team) who closes the top 10 ahead of Leandro Mercado (Orelac Racing VerdNatura).

Appointment in Portimao at the beginning of September with the tenth round of the season, which will open the final rush for the drivers' world title.

Below are the top six finishers in Race 2 at Laguna Seca:

1.) Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)

3.) Toprak Razgatlioglu (Turkish Puccetti Racing)
