Niccolò Canepa, after the crash in Superpole 1 which relegated him to sixteenth place on the starting grid, needed two attacking races to stay close to the top ten and in the top EVO positions.

Fortunately the weather was favorable yesterday: in Race 1, the Team Althea Racing driver started well trying to recover positions, dueling with Salom for tenth place overall.
For almost the entire race, Niccolò Canepa was in the lead, ahead of the other drivers in the category, until in the final stages he was overtaken by David Salom himself, thus finishing eleventh, second of the EVOs.
In Race 2, the Italian rider was always among the leaders and aimed for victory until the end, also given the good feeling with his Ducati Panigale 1199.
He also finished this heat in eleventh place, second of the EVOs.

On this day, Canepa earned ten useful points for the classification, which still confirms him second, just eight points behind Salom.
This weekend the Team and the driver worked as always giving their all, now they are ready to face the sixth round in Malaysia, which will be held on June 8th on a completely new circuit for the team.

"In these two races I gave my all to achieve victory in the EVO category, gaining positions compared to sixteenth place on the starting grid" - he said Niccolò Canepa– “We struggled a bit on this circuit, but we showed that we can fight for the positions that count, taking home two second places and ten points for the EVO classification.
Now let's look at the next round in Malaysia. It won't be easy, but we will give our best to always fight with the leaders."
