Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) has accustomed us in recent years to breaking record after record, since in 2015 he began an incredible domination in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, winning five consecutive world titles.

This weekend the production derivatives will return to the track at the Circuito Estoril, from which they have been missing since 1993, for the last round of the season which represents the second "match point" for Rea given that he was unable to close the world championship at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, two weeks ago.
In the Portuguese Round he will also have three chances to reach the historic milestone of 100 WorldSBK victories.

Redding is the only one who can prevent Rea from winning his sixth title at the Estoril Round even if to do so he will have to win all three races on the schedule and hope that the Northern Irishman faces a really difficult weekend. Rea will just need a top 13 finish in Race 1 if Redding succeeds. In that case there would be a 37 point gap between the two but the Northern Irishman would still become world champion given that Redding could not reach him in terms of seasonal successes.
His sixth world title is not the only record awaiting him at Estoril as he could become the first rider in WorldSBK history to win 100 races. He is currently at the top of the ranking of the most successful drivers ever thanks to the 99 successes achieved up to this point. With a victory in the three races scheduled at Estoril he would reach the historic milestone of 100 victories in WorldSBK.
At Magny-Cours he achieved 12 podiums in 19 races, including six victories. To reach this exceptional milestone he needs to complete his second hat-trick of 2020. Rea wants to make it three out of three in France to celebrate the world title and also his 100th success in one fell swoop. He could do it in the same race if the results are favorable to him.
