Wet track at Donington Park for the Tissot Superpole of the Prosecco DOC British Round: at the end of the session a historic pole position arrived for Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) who will start in front of everyone for the fourth time this season.
Yet another record for him who had never won the first four poles of a season in his career.

Rea's Saturday started off in the best way, dominating Free Practice 3 with over a second ahead of his closest pursuer. The six-time world champion resists the pressure of the two representatives of the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, namely Michael van der Mark and Tom Sykes. Rea clocked a 1'40.101 which ended Sykes' streak of five consecutive poles on this track. Van der Mark will start from second place ahead of Sykes.

Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) is almost six tenths behind Sykes and will start from fourth on the grid ahead of the American Garrett Gerloff (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team), making his debut on the English track. Closing the second row will be Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) who pays just under two seconds to Rea.

Despite the excellent pace shown in the early stages of the Tissot Superpole, Leon Haslam (Team HRC) will start seventh in Race 1 after crashing at turn 8. Behind him, completing the top ten is Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Chaz Davies (Team GoEleven) and Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing).

Excellent pace in FP3 and also good during the Tissot Superpole: Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) ends the session with the 12th time just behind the Lombard Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK) and ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK) who will be called upon to recover many positions in Race 1. Luke Mossey (OUTDO TPR Team Pedercini Racing) will start behind the Turk, signing his best career performance in Superpole.
