Superbike – Qualifying 2 Misano – Troy Corser the fastest

BMW with Troy Corser achieved the best time in the last round of official Superbike qualifying on the Misano Adriatico circuit. The Australian rider stopped the clock at 1'35.791 despite a fall at the start of the session where he came into contact with former MotoGP rider Sylvain Guintoli, now a rider for the Suzuki Alstare team.

Corser preceded three Ducatis in the standings: the bike of Shane Byrne (Althea Racing), Luca Scassa (Supersonic Racing Team) and Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox Team), within just 2 tenths of a second. Ducati is really in form at Misano, so much so that Lorenzo Lanzi (DFX Corse) is sixth ahead of Jakub Smrz (Team Pata).

In front of them there is only Max Biaggi who manages to do better than his championship rival Leon Haslam on the Aprilia RSV4, only tenth: between the two there are 15 points in the standings and Misano will be a truly important event of the season.

Chris Vermeulen, Federico Sandi and Matteo Baiocco were not admitted to the Superpole as they finished qualifying above twentieth position.
