The Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK team closed the races at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, scene of the seventh stage of the season, with mixed results: second place for Alex Lowes and the retirement of Michael Van Der Mark due to tire problems, followed by in Race2 fourth place for the Dutchman and unfortunately a crash for the English rider.

Regardless of the episodes, the pace maintained especially by Van der Mark in Race 1 was very impressive, as he was dominating before surrendering to a technical problem with a tyre, a sign that Yamaha's development has now reached a good level, allowing the riders to always be very competitive.

“I struggled to stop the bike, but we haven't changed anything since Saturday. I saw that even the riders in front of me didn't have the same pace as on Saturday, so I tried to do my laps and stay close to Alex and Eugene (Laverty)” – he said Michael Van Der Mark – “I passed Alex and then Eugene and tried to reduce the gap to the riders in front of me, but we were making similar times, so I couldn't do it. Towards the end I had another problem with the rear tyre. It's a shame, but the good thing is that we got good points. The best thing of the weekend was dominating the race on Saturday. We can't change anything, so let's take the positives and go to Laguna Seca."

After the joy of the podium on Saturday, following third place at Donington, Alex Lowes unfortunately made a mistake, by his own admission, losing the front of his Yamaha and ending the race prematurely.
However, the Englishman is satisfied with his weekend and the work done, and aims to make progress in view of the next event, the Geico US Round at Laguna Seca.

“It was easy to make a small mistake today and I'm not sure what happened. It's a shame to miss out on the opportunity to score. Overall it was a promising weekend, we showed good potential – even if it was difficult. We learned a lot and I can't wait to go to Laguna” – he said alex lowes.
