The first round in Europe of the 2017 season of the World Series Championship, scheduled for this weekend in Aragon, is eagerly awaited in particular by Jordi Torres (Althea BMW Racing Team) who will race in front of his home crowd.

The Catalan driver is seventh in the general classification, after the top 5 obtained at the Chang International Circuit, and is increasingly determined to reduce the gap with the leaders. The 29-year-old crossed the finish line in seventh and fifth place last year at MotorLand Aragon.

“I am happy to return to Spain, to my home, for the third round of the championship” – he declared Jordi Torres – “I believe I have started this season well but having said that, the aim is to continue to make progress, and therefore I will work to continuously improve my results and close the gap that currently separates us from the leaders. It will be nice to compete at home and I hope to be able to give good results to my fans who will come to support me."

Markus Reiterberger, however, it was a difficult weekend in 2016 with a fourteenth place finish, so he wants to improve his performance.

“I can't wait to race in Aragon. I really like the track and the weather conditions are usually good" - said the German - "Last year we struggled a little and therefore we must learn from those experiences to be able to improve this weekend, working hard from start to finish . I hope I can have a positive weekend and I will do my best to complete two good races."

Althea BMW's commitment to the Superstock 1000 extends from this round with Marco Faccani astride the BMW S 1000 RR: the young Italian is understandably enthusiastic about his debut, eager to get on track on Friday for the first free practices.

“I think I am well prepared for the start of the season, after a winter spent training” – he said Marco Faccani – “We carried out some tests in which I also had the opportunity to see my rivals and it seems that we will be a good group fighting for the positions that count. My goal is to always be competitive to aim for the title. Aragon is also a track that I like and where I did well in last year's test sessions. I thank the team, Genesio first and foremost, for the opportunity given to me and I hope I can do well and start the championship on the right foot."
