Difficult days for home Kawasaki rider Tom Sykes at Phillip Island after the bad accident last Thursday in private testing.

The Englishman from Kawasaki is trying to recover as best he can for the first race of the Superbike season and the third time obtained in the second day of official testing bodes well.

Here are his statements at the end of today's session:

"Today I had to put a lot of force on my injured arm; my wrist and nerves are also sore but, also thanks to my team, I managed to do a good job.
I want to thank my entire team and my Team Manager Guim because they did a lot for me after Thursday's accident. Today we reorganized ourselves and managed to continue the work started previously.
There's still a lot to do but the guys have made great progress, making things a lot easier for me. I managed to get back on the bike and have fun, which is very important.
It wasn't easy to get back on track after the accident but I managed it and gathered a lot of useful information.
I'm lucky to have this team, we managed to make up for a lot of lost time.
We did a lot of laps yesterday too and this morning I woke up feeling calm.”

Even for Loris Baz it wasn't easy to get back on track after the accident a few days ago.

Here are his statements:

"It wasn't easy to start these tests because I crashed in the previous ones and it wasn't easy to recover the confidence I had before so I lapped far below my limit.
It's very important to feel good on the bike and let it run through the bends.
I believe that at a certain point the feeling returned because we managed to improve a lot and this is very important.
I think we are going in the right direction and that we will be in good shape on Friday. "
