At 11:00 this morning, Saturday 20 May, a new medical update informs that unfortunately Nicky Hayden's clinical picture has not undergone substantial changes: his conditions remain very serious and he remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Bufalini hospital in Cesena in reserved prognosis.

We remind you that the American rider, world champion in MotoGP in 2006 and currently working for the Red Bull Honda WorldSbk team in the top series derivatives championship, was hit by a car on Wednesday 17 May in the early afternoon while training on his bicycle in Misano Adriatico, in the Rimini area, suffering serious injuries.
Hayden was thrown onto the bonnet of the car and broke the windshield while his bike, broken, ended up in a ditch on the side of the road near an intersection between Via Ca' Raffaelli and Via Tavoleto.

Meanwhile, we learn that the 30-year-old motorist involved in the accident has been registered, according to a report in the Rimini press also reported by the Ansa.it website, in the register of those under investigation for road injuries.
In these days, experts will be appointed who will have the task of assisting the prosecutor's office in the reconstruction of the clash: the prosecutor Paolo Gengarelli, owner of the file, will appoint his own expert, and it is probable that the lawyer of the Hayden family and that of the young motorist.
At the center of the report will be, above all, the reconstruction of the speed of the car with which Hayden collided.
A turned-on iPod was also found and seized: it is probable that while he was pedaling, the American champion was listening to music.
Furthermore, it will be necessary to understand, with an inspection carried out at the same time as the accident, whether the sun could have disturbed and limited the visibility of Hayden or the motorist.
