Superbike, Motul Italian Round, Race 1: Xavi Fores very satisfied with his fifth place

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola is a track that is well suited to the characteristics of the Panigale 1199 R and this is demonstrated by the fact that Xavi Fores, with a private team like Barni Racing which can therefore count on last year's Ducati material , has been going strong since free practice.
The Spanish rider performed yet another great performance today, taking an excellent fifth place behind the official Kawasakis and Panigales.
Fores was also somewhat helped by the red flags displayed for Eugene Laverty's crash, which ended the race, but it remains to be proven that in just six laps available Camier would have managed to catch him.

“I am very happy” – he said Xavi Fores – “I didn't expect a race like this after the few laps we did over the weekend. I made a good start and was consistent at 1'47”. I saw Tom Sykes and Marco Melandri in front and I was pushing hard to try to stay with them, but they had a slightly faster pace. For us this fifth place is like a podium."
