Marco Melandri won Race 2 of the Superbike in Moscow, the 11th round of the world championship. The BMW driver, who rose to the top of the drivers' standings, preceded Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies

chronicle
Race 2 on a completely dry track and good weather conditions. At the start Sykes takes the lead again ahead of Laverty, Haslam, Rea, Melandri and Checa. Bad start for the Spaniard ahead of Baz and Guintoli, with Fabrizio immediately outside. Aoyama also suffered a fall and was transferred to the medical center for medical checks.

On the second lap Melandri overtook Rea while Giugliano overtook Checa. Sykes was unable to escape and the leading quartet remained very compact. On the third lap Melandri attacked and overtook Haslam to move into third position while Biaggi moved up to sixth place. The Roman took advantage of his good moment and also overtook Giugliano

On the fifth lap Sykes took the margin but Melandri overtook Laverty who however responded to the Italian. Haslam also took advantage of this while Biaggi moved in behind them.

On lap seven Melandri overtook Laverty while Biaggi lost two positions by making a mistake entering the last corner. On the ninth lap the Roman overtook Rea when braking but overtook Haslam. Both on the ground, unharmed.

Chaz Davies gained some positions while Melandri chased Sykes. On lap 15 Melandri overtook the Kawasaki rider under braking to take the lead of the race while Davies recorded the fastest lap.

On lap 17 Davies overtook Checa but ran wide and lost his position. On lap 22 Laverty passes Rea and gets behind Sykes while Melandri now manages his advantage. The race ends with a twist on the last lap: fighting with Sykes, Laverty fell and also hit Rea who was behind him. Checa was forced to slow down while Chaz Davies overtook him to take third place.

What a race guys!!! This should also be the case for equivalent MotoGP bikes, even if Ducati in my opinion is too penalized and riders who take it for granted. The only sore point was that unsuccessful and very dangerous attempt by that boastful Biaggi. It's crazy that such a maneuver should be punished with heavy sanctions... it could have hurt poor Haslam. For the rest, a very good and rich race of overtaking and emotions.

Biaggi's results like those of Valentino are clear, two champions and calling Max Biaggi a braggart like someone did just means not understanding anything about talents or champions

I find that the format with 2 races has little "appeal", otherwise I would have already completely abandoned the Motgp which, even today, bored me (excluding the first 3 laps and the last). Seeing race 2 of the superbike immediately afterwards made the difference in terms of spectacle even more evident.

In reality, in many championships there are 2 races.

The second is usually in reversed positions. Which doesn't happen on superbikes.

The difficulty is that it is a tougher championship and that the 2 races can usually give very different results. For weather conditions or racing events.

For me it has the appeal. But maybe because I haven't watched Moto GP for a few years. Not just because it's boring but because it's partly fake. The latest stupid thing was to fill the lineup with third world scooters xD

Having said this, there is no doubt that SBK is more spectacular. But if you like Moto GP you will always see it. Like F1, which was watched even when it was very boring. And now we look at it although most overtaking is facilitated by kers and mobile wing.

Many don't watch SBK only because that contrast has now been created between SBK VS MotoGP.. but everyone must watch the one with more peace without saying long live one and down with the other..
