Superbike Monza Race 2: one-two for Laverty, Biaggi angry!

Superbike Monza Race 2: one-two for Laverty, Biaggi angry!Superbike Monza Race 2: one-two for Laverty, Biaggi angry!

Race 2 which will be followed by a thousand controversies in the Superbike World Championship in Monza, the fourth round of 2011. Max Biaggi was in fact penalized with a Drive Trough when he was leading with over five seconds of advantage for having cut the chicane; the Roman obviously couldn't regain the position given the five second lead, so he slowed down on that lap but the race direction was inflexible, triggering the wrath of the Venetian manufacturer's garage, especially that of his trainer Marino Laghi. Biaggi himself, crossing the finish line and looking at the sign indicating the penalty, shook his head several times!!

At that point Marco Melandri took the lead (who had previously taken advantage of the fall of Leon Camier, second at the time of the crash), who at that moment was behind Biaggi and who was fighting with Haga, Fabrizio and a Laverty ( winner of race 1) comeback after losing ground at the start of the race due to a fall involving Rea, Smrz and Haslam.

Laverty himself first overtook Haga and Fabrizio, and then started chasing his teammate Melandri. once he reached the Ravenna he waited slyly, managing to beat him right at the parabolica and going on to take an amazing one-two ahead of his team-mate and a great Michel Fabrizio, winner of the duel with Haga's Pata Racing Aprilia.

Biaggi instead finished eighth and according to the actual regulations his penalty would seem fair; At least Marco Melandri was of this opinion, always harsh towards the Roman rider. Gigi Dall'Igna, father of the Aprilia RSV 1000, however, has a contrary opinion and, despite understanding the penalty, spoke of the judges being too harsh.

Returning to the race, Ayrton Badovini's performance was excellent, finishing sixth on the Team Motorrad Italia BMW. Badovini, preceded by his teammate Corser, put Guintoli, the aforementioned Biaggi, Lascorz and world championship leader Carlos Checa behind him. Thirteenth went to Roberto Rolfo, riding the Team Pedercini Kawasaki.

I confirm...it was a theft, they don't want max to win.

Maybe they made it too easy for him last year...

The rules are clear, whoever makes a mistake pays.

they have to convince Ducati to return to official form………..and then I have to say that melandri is looking for slaps

I'll start by saying that I'm not a Biaggi supporter, but how many cuts were there at that point? The only one penalized was Biaggi, of course.
I would like to understand where he should have gone from. But it matters little when Biaggi is involved.
Melandri is an expert in regulations; it is known that even in MotoGP he stayed studying them until late at night, while Stoner inflicted half days of separation on him.
But shut up, you spoiled, overrated child!

In Italy they are always inflexible with our drivers and the others make a lot of mistakes
but it turns out they always take it out on the pilots

And A scandal and Enough and Melandri is what it is, I'm not Pro Biaggi but giving that penalty to a rider who is giving more than 5 seconds per second is absurd

Here's the smell of burnt, it seems like we'll see more rubbish like this this year

I quote all those who claim that this is real sabotage towards Biaggi. I would just like to specify one thing: from one of the interviews conducted after the race, Gigi dall'Igna specified that Biaggi was not penalized because he cut the chicane, but rather because he did not respect the route of the escape route, passing over a white line on which he shouldn't have passed... SIMPLY RIDICULOUS RACE COMMISSION!!... like Melandri on the other hand...

  • Matteo said:

Here we go again! We Italians always want to be more realistic than the King. No team would have protested about what happened because Max actually didn't gain any advantage from it. It is true that there is a rule to "manage" the route anomaly, but it is also true that there were no conditions to apply it. Melandri… better to keep quiet.

  • Gloria70 said:

…how sad to see the course marshals wickedly rejoicing over Biaggi's penalty.
I think that today SBK put on a show that wasn't up to its reputation
Let the commissioners also think about it a bit, without exception, without hiding behind regulatory issues!!!

  • mister said:

    what about melandri?
he missed an opportunity to keep quiet, he's looking for a slap and a bad one, in any case Laverty took care of beating him!

Watch out, you scoundrels... you're starting to piss off a lot of people.

  • Rodolfo said:

To comment on what happened to Max Biaggi today it would be enough to say that penalizing a rider who is winning a world SBK race with well over 5 seconds on those following him just because he made a mistake in braking and, arriving long, took the escape route, taking care to look behind so as not to hinder any pursuers, well, it speaks for itself! Evidently Max is annoying someone, as Melandri would do well to try to win something with actions and not with talk, if he can spare that!

I think BMW will win this year because it subsidizes more.

  • HANDCUFF said:

I'm not particularly a MAX fan but I really don't remember a similar theft!!! something scandalous.

Then the "dunce" of melandri former failed GP driver should just shut up, who beats everyone for bullshit and constant complaints.

  • Paul said:

max you don't have to prove anything to anyone anymore you're great, melandri win before you speak, buffoon...

  • melandri you are a ……, commissioners you are …….., the Japanese must win the world championship, Max don't give up, you'll break the ass of the yellow faces and melandri, you are the reason for living that pushes me to get on the motorbike (BMW1200) Unfortunately. You are and will always be the No. 1 Valentino gives you a handjob
