Carlos Checa found sunny skies today in Monza (where the fourth round of the 2012 World Superbike championship will take place this weekend). The reigning champion of Team Althea Racing closed the first day of testing with the ninth fastest time, a result that was not too disdainful given the difficulties of the twin-cylinder on the Brianza track. The word is up to him.

“Considering that this track is one of those where we have always had some difficulties, I would say that we have made constant growth during today's two sessions. I also improved in T2, a point on the track that has always given me problems. There are some sections where we still have to work to improve, but all in all I am satisfied with the work we have done so far.”
