Superbike, Pirelli Rivera of Rimini Round. After the day of testing at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli at the beginning of June, Nicky Hayden and Michael Van Der Mark are ready to return to this track to contest the eighth round of the championship.
The American rider knows the track well, which he has faced many times in MotoGP and will certainly make good use of his experience to try to stay at the top of the standings.

Last year, when he was a rookie, Van Der Mark achieved a double top ten and in 2014, when he was racing in WorldSSP, a second place behind Jules Cluzel: the Dutchman is therefore confident ahead of the weekend, especially after the test in which he managed to have a good feeling on his CBR.

“I can't wait to get on track” – he said Nicky Hayden – “I spent last weekend watching my brother race, who also won, in Alabama, in MotoAmerica. It's nice to be a spectator, but it definitely makes you want to get back in the saddle as soon as possible! Misano is located in a beautiful area, in a part of Italy where I often spend the summer and where I have many friends. The track has never been too favorable to my riding style and I've never had much luck here. The second part of the track, with fast right-hand corners, is where the lap times are achieved, although the first section, the slowest one, is where we need to improve the most. I hope to start the weekend on the right foot and have a good fight."

“After the test in Misano I found a good feeling with my Fireblade” – he added Michael Van Der Mark – “We needed that test and I want to thank the team and Honda for the possibility. It's time for us to have a good weekend and get back on top, as we missed the podium in some rounds. The second half of the season has started now, so every race is crucial for the final classification and we cannot afford to have normal results. I can't wait for the weekend to start and hopefully we can get what we're looking for."
