After a first free practice session characterized by rain, the first official qualifying sessions of the American World Superbike weekend took place on a dry track but hit by strong winds.

The driver of the Liberty Racing Team Effenbert Jakub Smrz; the Czech rider has shown that he is comfortable in both weather conditions and this could work in his favor from a Superpole and races perspective.

The reigning world champion placed second in the official qualifications Carlos Checa followed by the Italians Marco Melandri, Max Biaggi and Davide Giugliano, increasingly growing.

Sixth place for Sylvain Guintoli, seventh per Jonathan Rhea, eighth per Eugene Laverty and ninth for the pole man of the 2012 season Tom Sykes.
