The Team Aruba Racing Ducati rider was in fact unfortunately injured during a charity football match at the Cattolica stadium.
Already in the next few days the man from Ravenna will begin his rehabilitation to present himself at his best for the first tests of 2017, scheduled for 24 and 25 January in Jerez de la Frontera.
“Looking at the positive side, perhaps it was lucky to run into the problem at this time of year, after the championship and tests were over” – he commented Marco Melandri – “Better to pay the bills with bad luck now, when we have plenty of time to recover calmly. I was simply walking when I felt a failure, so one would say that it would only be a matter of time before I injured myself. I will start rehabilitation immediately, and in 8-10 days I should already be able to walk without crutches. I can't wait to get back on the Panigale R.”
