Fassi Malaysian Round, Race 2. He dedicated the victory to his father: it's an emotional Nicky Hayden who climbs onto the top step of the podium for the first time in WorldSbk, in the second heat of the round at the Sepang International Circuit.

Just under 10 years after his triumph in MotoGP, when he became World Champion, the American enters the small "club" of riders who have won in both top categories of the MotoGP, and he does so at the end of a masterful race , conducted solo in extreme “full wet” conditions, with a flooded track.
When it happens that it starts to rain two hours before the race, all plans are thrown into disarray, especially if the only data available for the weekend refer to dry conditions, but it also happens that the forces on the track change, consequently for those who have something to play it's time to do it.
Hayden understood that the right moment had come, he who had suffered a lot from tire wear in Race 1, a situation that was repeating itself at the end, when the track was drying and Davide Giugliano was getting ever closer.
Fortunately for him there weren't many laps available on a dry track, and the American was able to celebrate the success with the team ahead of the Italian Ducati rider and Jonathan Rea.

“I had a chance today and I took advantage of it, but we had no idea how the tires would behave in the wet and when the track started to dry I got worried. But in the end it went well – he confessed Nicky Hayden – “I thank the team and also my fans, but I want to dedicate this victory to my father”.

He may not have been the best MotoGP rider, but for me he has always been a gentleman and seeing him win and do well for me, a Ducatista fan, is a joy.

Never a wrong behavior, never a word out of place (apart from the curses against Pedrosa when he made him fall, risking him losing the world championship) and he has always been an example and a model for everyone to follow.

    Thanks Nicky
