Superbike, GEICO Motorcycle US Round, Free Practice. It wasn't an easy day for Nicky Hayden, making his debut on his home track for the first time in WorldSbk, who had to push very hard in the second round to take third place overall.

Hayden initially had to deal with some problems, especially with the electronics which caused him to lose a lot of time in the morning session, which were fortunately resolved during the day.
The American driver is ready to put on a show in front of his audience in qualifying, remembering that Hayden's first GP victory and pole position took place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2005.
Here he also achieved his first success in AMA Superbike and is ready for the challenge in WorldSBK.

“To be honest, it didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped – you always hope that everything goes smoothly,” he explained. Nicky Hayden after FP2 – “We had a couple more problems than I had hoped for this week with the electronics, and I tried to make sure all the sections worked the right way. It was a little frustrating. In the end we put on new tyres, but I came close to improving my lap time! We have some good things and overall it wasn't a disaster on the first day.
Qualifying has never been my strong point, but I improved and at Misano I was closest to the front row,” added Hayden. “So we will go on the attack! It's great to be back in Laguna and it's great to see so many people here. I hope we can continue to improve and I hope to do something better in the next couple of days."
