Superbikes | The FIM publishes updates for the 2019 bikes
The list of approved motorcycles and engine speed limits has been announced
A few days before the first round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season, the FIM has published the list of homologated bikes and the updates foreseen as limits for the engine of the production derivatives.
In line with the technical regulation and, in particular, on the compensation of the different aspects relating to the motorcycle, the speed thresholds have been established for the new models homologated by Superbike (for example, article 2.4.3.1).
All tests were carried out at factories with already run-in motorcycles. The 2019 initial engine speed limits for new motorcycles will be subject to review at the discretion of the FIM in the event that series-produced motorcycles sold by dealers perform differently and are subject to Article 2.4.3x of the Regulations of Superbike World Championship.
