After three days of testing in Portimao, the Kawasaki Racing Team is ready to face the fourth round of the season, the Acerbis Dutch Round, scheduled this weekend on one of the most evocative tracks on the calendar: the TT Circuit of Assen, the famous “Motorcycle University”.

For Jonathan Rea this is an important appointment given that he will reach 200 races in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, and he therefore hopes to celebrate with yet another weekend as a protagonist thanks also to the updates tested in Portugal.
The reigning champion does not go too far, aware that 50 points after three rounds is a significant but not decisive haul given the talent of his pursuers, first and foremost his teammate Tom Sykes.

“Tomorrow in Assen I will race my 200th career race in WorldSBK, it's something I'm proud of and also excited about” – he explained Jonathan Rhea – “I'm excited to race in Assen. Since the Motorland Aragon race we have had three days of testing where we worked hard to improve the set up of the ZX-10RR, with positive results. The weekend in Assen is always at this time of year and looking back the weather can play its part, so it is important to be fast in both dry and wet conditions. It's always a pleasure to race in front of the Dutch crowd, who are very warm."

Tom Sykes took advantage of the break to treat the physical ailments that slowed him down in the third round at MotorLand Aragon and is therefore looking for positive results in the fourth round of the season, happy with the progress made in the test.

“I can't wait to get back on track in Assen” – he said Tom Sykes – “I just have to see how I feel physically after the problems I've had. This distracted me a bit, but I'm ready to go back to Holland to race. Even though I wasn't in top form we obtained important data in the tests. I really like Assen, as I believe every rider does. We have made some small changes to the set-up and some improvements that we will bring this weekend."
