Motul Italian Round, Race 2: perfect day for Ducati which celebrates its 90th anniversary with a double from Chaz Davies, who repeats yesterday's success in Race 1.
A more than deserved triumph in an absolutely perfect weekend which allows him to close the gap on Jonathan Rea in the general classification: with this form and a Panigale like this the world title is a real possibility.
The fact that Ducati cares a lot about this result, and the progress of the WorldSBK Championship in general, is demonstrated by the fact that Gigi Dall'Igna stood on the podium with Davies.

The track conditions change, therefore, but not the final result: Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes still on the podium next to him, engaged more in a fight between themselves than in catching Davies, who was literally uncatchable this weekend.
Rea in particular seemed to have a lot of difficulty keeping his Ninja in line, which even went out at a certain point, but with a lot of skill, seeing and reviewing the skid before the finish line on lap 12, he managed to stay in front of the teammate, Tom Sykes.

Davide Giugliano also smiles in Ducati, fourth at the end, who finally manages to complete a race without problems: now he just needs to gain a little more confidence with the bike, which Davies instead sewed himself on, to try to stay permanently with the top three.
Fifth place for an excellent Leon Camier who manages to make great use of his F4 MV Agusta, followed by Alex Lowes who is decidedly more at ease with these track conditions compared to the whole weekend, and Jordi Torres who, as predicted by himself yesterday in the press conference, the damp track suffers a lot.
Good eighth position for Nicky Hayden on his first weekend on the Imola track, followed by teammate Van Der Mark: in general Honda is in difficulty after the excellent results obtained so far.
Xavi Fores completes the top ten, immediately ahead of Lorenzo Savadori who improves somewhat compared to yesterday but drops a lot from mid-race onwards: as he himself said at the end of the race, IodaRacing is working hard to make steps forward with each outing, which obviously they require time and desire, which is certainly not lacking.

Finally, relief for Sylvain Guintoli's condition after the scare from yesterday's crash in SP2: returning to the circuit this morning after tests in hospital which confirmed only a broken ankle, he enjoyed the race in Hospitality Yamaha.
We hope to see him again at the next event, the Fassi Malaysian Round, scheduled for 13 to 15 May in Malaysia, where the Kawasakis will certainly arrive more aggressive than ever to take back the top step of the podium.

    SuperChaz..
SBK means riders with p**s, where you don't constantly complain as happens in the GP with spoiled and overrated riders who then get beaten up when they get here.

I agree with you Woody, although to be honest even those who from the WSBK go to higher categories in search of fortune find themselves even more severely beaten!!

Meh.. A rather reckless statement, Spies and Crutchlow don't seem to me to have caused havoc once they migrated to MotoGP and no rider arriving from SBK has ever even come close to the world championship... Leon Camier in 2014 took part in 3 or 4 races with a Honda customer and he always placed 15th or 16th.. Bayliss himself, when he contested an entire world championship in MotoGP in 2003, did no better than 6. In contrast to Biaggi, 2 world championships in SBK, Simoncelli himself ran a SBK race almost for fun and got on the podium with third place.. I would say that the balance is definitely in favor of the MotoGP riders rather than "sounding blows"..
