Superbike: The summary of the possible protagonists in ThailandSuperbike: The summary of the possible protagonists in Thailand

After just one round of the 2016 World Championship there is already a driver expected to redeem himself in Thailand: Tom Sykes in fact crashed in the race in the inaugural round in Australia, unable to keep up not only with his teammate, Jonathan Rea, but even its direct rivals.

Beyond the gap, which had already risen to 29 points from the leader Rea, the performance of Sykes, never able to keep up with the pace of the leaders after a qualifying in which, as usual, had shone above all, made us think.
The blame was given to some small inconveniences that occurred on the track and the poor feeling with the bike, so much so that Sykes did not seem very worried after the two races at Phillip Island, in fact he is more excited than ever in view of the round in Thailand which will also begin tomorrow with the first free practice sessions, where his commitment will have to be maximum.
“The Chang International Circuit, on paper, is a circuit that could really give us satisfaction, so I'm excited to return. I got a podium in one of last year's races, but this year we can do better“ – he said Tom Sykes on the eve – “I remember in 2015 here we had a large number of spectators on the circuit and also for this reason I had fun. This year we also have a better ZX-10R so I'm confident about the race in Thailand."

Another protagonist who came out badly from the opening round and from the comparison with his teammate is Alex Lowes, who was making his debut in the new Pata Crescent Yahama team and who scored only 2 points in as many races thanks to a fourteenth place and a crash.
It's understandable that he too can't wait to get on track in Thailand.

“The Chang International Circuit brings back good memories from my race last year,” he said alex lowes – “It is a relatively new circuit on this year's calendar, being only the second time in the World Superbike Championship. Meanwhile I'm visiting Thailand, and I can't wait to get started. I don't actually have much to say about Phillip Island, I'm trying to make a start that suits my possibilities. I feel calm and relaxed this week and really looking forward to hitting the track. It will be a difficult weekend also due to the temperatures on the circuit and we already have a lot of work to do before Friday's free practice on the YZF-R1, but I'm confident because this bike has potential."

Who instead is expected to make his debut at the Chang International Circuit David Giugliano, who was not present last year due to a bad injury during the Phillip Island tests.
“The results obtained in Australia have heartened me. The Panigale R has undoubtedly improved and, thanks to great team work and greater experience with the package, we managed to get off on the right foot after a long absence from racing. I have never raced in Thailand and we will also have to deal with the heat but, in this regard, Phillip Island represented a good test. Physically I don't feel 100% yet but I'm close to the best condition and I'll be prepared."

Still at Ducati, some good news concerns Xavi Forés who, having overcome the finger injury that forced him to miss the two opening races, will return to the saddle of the Ducati Panigale R of the Barni Racing Team.
