While waiting to take to the track for the Pirelli Spanish Round, the protagonists of the World Championship stopped at the famous Alcazar in Jerez in the eagerly awaited Media Event, the eleventh century fortress located in the Andalusian city.

In addition to leader Jonathan Rea, Chaz Davies and Michael van der Mark were joined by home riders Jordi Torres, Roman Ramos (Team Go Eleven) and David Salom (Team Pedercini Kawasaki).
Also present were the Spaniards from World Supersport Marcos Ramirez (Team Lorini Honda) and Nacho Calero (Orelac Racing), as well as the EJC leader Javier Orellana.
At the event there was also space for Sarunas Pladas (Pladas Racing), the first Lithuanian rider in history to take part in a world-class motorcycling speed race.
The event began with a guided tour of the splendid fortress, which includes the famous diagonal tower, the only remaining mosque.

The group then stopped in the Plaza del Arenal, adjacent to the Alcazar, where the riders met the numerous fans.
With so many titles that can be awarded this weekend, the show on the track promises to be more exciting than ever.
See you at 11am tomorrow with the first free practice session.
