While waiting to see the drivers giving full throttle on the track, let's give some "numbers" of the second round of the World Championship which finally returns this weekend to the Motorland of Aragon.

Let's start with the leader of the world championship standings: out of six races run here, Sylvain Guintoli he only managed to get on the podium last year, when he achieved two second places alone, a good five seconds behind the dominant Davies.
His loot so far is therefore of little importance.

His closest pursuer, Loris Baz, last year he was the author of two very complicated races: in race 1, after a bad start, he managed to recover and finish fifth, while in race 2 he crossed the finish line in sixth place, even after starting from the pits.

Marco Melandri he is, with Chaz Davies and Max Biaggi, one of the three riders who have won here, winning race 2011 in 1, starting from pole, and race 2012 in 2.
For him there are five podiums out of the six races run in Aragon: the appointment with the top three was missed only last year in race 2, conditioned by the after-effects of a surgical operation.

David Giugliano last year he was the protagonist, for better or for worse, especially in race 1, when he recovered from tenth place on the first lap to third, only to run out of fuel a few meters from the finish line.
In race 2 he managed to make another comeback and finish fourth.

Up to 2012 the results of Eugene Laverty they have been good on this track: a podium in four races, always in the top six at the finish.
However, the 2013 round should be forgotten: the Irishman suffered an exhaust valve problem while leading in race 1 and was thrown off his horse at the second corner in race 2.

Poleman of the last two editions, for Tom Sykes the Aragon races have never been full of satisfactions: one retirement per year and only one podium in 2013 in race 2.
Last year he led after Laverty's failure, before a mechanical problem put him down.

Like Phillip Island, Motorland is one of the few circuits where Jonathan Rhea he didn't finish on the podium: in 2012 and 2013 he finished fifth in race 2 and fourth in race 1 respectively, while in the other heats he was the victim of a brake problem last year and of an accident with Jakub Smrz two years ago.

Speaking of the teams, however, theAprilia it is the bike that has won the most podiums at Motorland, eight, compared to five for BMW.
It should be noted that all the Aprilias that reached the finish line in Aragon, both the official ones and the private ones, always scored in the points.

La BMW The S 1000 RR is the most successful bike at Aragon, with three wins out of six races held (Melandri in 2012 in race two and a double for Davies last year).

Slim loot so far for the Ducati: two third places for Carlos Checa, in race 2 in 2011 and in race 1 in 2012.

Circuit stingy with satisfaction also for the Honda, which has never achieved a podium here: the best result is Jonathan Rea's fourth place in race 1 last year.

Only one podium placement for Kawasaki in Aragon, with Tom Sykes in third place in the second race.
Qualifying was decidedly better, where it was the fastest bike for two consecutive editions.

The best results for the Suzuki here they were obtained by Michel Fabrizio, fourth in race 2 in 2011 and Jules Cluzel, fifth in qualifying last year: we'll see if history changes with Laverty and Lowes!
