On the historic TT Van Drenthe track in Assen in the Netherlands, Niccolò Canepa achieved excellent times in both free practice sessions, in dry track conditions, confirming his place as first among the EVOs.

Together with his technicians, the Italian rider began the development work necessary to adapt his 1199 Panigale to the Dutch track. Canepa started the weekend well, closing the session with an excellent ninth place and with a time of 1'37”584 he was the first of the riders in the Evo class.
In the second session held in the afternoon, Niccolò improved his best time and with a lap of 1'37”042 he concluded the tests in eleventh place, confirming himself as the fastest of the Evo drivers.
An undoubtedly positive day for the Althea racing team, which tomorrow will try to confirm itself at the top of the category, both in the last round of timed tests and in Superpole.

“Today we worked very well. In the afternoon I improved by half a second compared to this morning and if I hadn't found traffic on my fastest laps, I could have done even better. I am the first of the Evo riders, but we have to continue working because our rivals are very close” - he declared Niccolò Canepa at the end of the afternoon session - “I think we can get into the top ten and if it doesn't rain tomorrow I will do everything to qualify directly for Superpole two. We worked on the electronics and the set-up of my Panigale, while we already have very clear ideas about the tyres. Tomorrow we will make some changes to the chassis, because we want to improve corner entry, but overall I am satisfied and confident for tomorrow and for Sunday's races."
