Even in Race 2 it was the red flag that determined the final podium. In fact, with one lap to go, Matej Smrz's fall and the large puddle of oil left by his bike meant the race ended early. The matador of the two qualifications emerged victorious Chaz Davies managed to outwit a Eugene Laverty hungry for redemption after the morning's misadventures and his BMW pit mate Marco Melandri, rather disappointed at the parc fermé for the second missed opportunity of the day.
Tom Sykes appeared less on the ball than in Race 1 and stopped his ZX-10R in fourth position, however clinging to the world championship lead by one point at the expense of Sylvain Guintoli, fifth, but never really competitive.
Good sixth place for Davide Giugliano's Aprilia Althea, finally protagonist of a flawless weekend, followed by two other Italians, the poleman Ayrton Badovini, who limited the damage in the dry with the plodding Panigale 1199 and Michel Fabrizio with the RSV4 Red Devils.
Max Neukirchner also did well on the Ducati MR-Racing, ninth, able to lower the curtain of anonymity at least in his home garden.
Tenth and Carlos Checa not at the weekend; Thirteenth was Leon Haslam on the only Honda Pata fielded after Rea's crash during the opening heat. Having suffered an accident, he was still able to get back on the track and complete the race. Finally, Jules Cluzel also returns after a technical problem reported in the early stages.

Next meeting on September 15th in Türkiye.
