Superbike, Acerbis UK Round. He's quite disappointed and it couldn't be otherwise: Alex Lowes didn't take part in the action on the track yesterday, Saturday 27 May, and he won't be riding his R1 today either, for Race 2.

The Yamaha rider had attempted a quick recovery from the collarbone operation, necessary to reduce the fracture suffered in Malaysia, but after Friday's free practice he underwent a check-up at the Medical Center where the doctors found that he was too risky for him to continue.
Lowes is very disappointed at having to effectively miss the home round, but is already thinking of focusing on full recovery in view of the eighth round, at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, from 17 to 19 June.

“It's the right decision, because I'm not in shape to run 23 laps, and it doesn't make sense to go out on track to do two or three laps and then have to retire. The bike goes really well, but I don't have enough strength. I realized this morning that it wasn't possible. I don't want to start the race without the right potential” – he said alex lowes -” I should be ready for that weekend, but you never know. I have a couple of weeks to recover. I thought I could race this weekend, I don't know if maybe it was the track layout that didn't help us. The shoulder suffered a trauma, we'll see what happens in Misano. I hope I'm okay for that round. This weekend I don't think I could have done six laps, let alone 23".
